Here are a few of my favourite things from the shop:

1940s Terra Cotta rayon blouse
1960's John Romain Tweed Handbag
Vintage All Spice Huarache sandals
Aren't they gorgeous? The bad thing is, I don't get my visa card until next week, so I can't get my hands on any of these wonderful things until then. I suggest that if you can, you grab something from the shop while you can, or enter the giveaway. Again, you can enter here, and visit the shop here. Enjoy!
P.S. The customizing on my links is broken at the moment, sorry guys!

A quick one
Misleading title! This is just a quick post to tell you that I've started a livejournal, which you can see here. I started it because I tend to have a lot of plot ideas in my head at the same time, and I need a place to channel them. Also, I like people to read my work. It means I get feedback which is always nice. So please have a look, comment, follow, whatever it is you do on there.

Sunny spain
Again, sorry about the dispersal of posts. I've decided to share with you a few pictures from when we visited Majorca. By far the most enchanting day was visiting The Marine Centre, so that's mostly what you'll see.
These pretty birds were lovely to photograph; they sat perfectly still. This was during the parrot show, which was fascinating. I learnt a lot I wouldn't have known before, like the fact that parrots have the same mental ability as a 3 year old human.
The Amphibian House was rather amusing, everything was so lazy. If you weren't otherwise aware, you would have probably thought that this lizard was a statue.
We went on to watch a sea lion show. They were absoloutly fantastic and very well trained. Don't be fooled by the media, they are very well kept. Every element of their environment is fair to them, and they are never forced to do anything. (You could tell because once the show was over and they were back in their living space, they were posing for all the cameras!) After the seals came the dolphins, which were truly amazing and as intelligent as everyone says.
They were really majestic. My sister came away adamant that she was going to own one.
And here's the beach. Looking rather more grey than it was in reality, I must say.
Anyway, the holiday really got me thinking: I think I'm going to do some work abroad in the summers of 2013 and 14. It would be nice to have a job in France or Spain, but Germany would be equally wonderful. I know it's a while away but it's better to plan ahead isn't it?

I had a soft spot for the birds, they were beautiful.
We also visited the Cathedral, which was brilliant; but I think I need a different post all together for that.
This was the street by the beach, and it was gorgeous. The houses up on the hill were lovely and had me and my sister absoloutly transfixed.
Aren't the colours so suitable?

Shoes, glorious shoes
Hello! Sorry about this gaping silence that has descended onto my blog; it was due to a holiday in Majorca. It was fabulous, but there'll be more on that later. Right now, it's time for birthday talk! My birthday is on Monday, so I've been looking for things to buy on the internet. Naturally shoes fell into my path pretty quickly. Here's what I found.
These might look a little bit - for lack of a better adjective - clunky, but I saw them in the shop today and they look much better. I wish buying these beautiful black boots was worthwhile, but in a month I'll be in Sixth Form and they will be pushed to the back of a cupboard. It's a shame because I could use the height. But of course, I didn't give up my search!
These are fabulous wedges. I adore these because while only having a 3 or 4 inch heel (and therefore not being 'Killer Heels'), they give you 5 or 6 extra inches thanks to the platform. The wooden look is great because it suits any outfit, and provides comfortable soles. Unfortunately, these gorgeous sandals are far out of my birthday budget though, so I have to love them (a lot) and leave them.
Again, these might seem a little bizarre, but I really like the wood detail. These are even better than the brown sandals because black will go with many more colours. But, like the brown ones; the budget would be blown. I suppose window shopping will do.
These aren't really a realistic choice. I would never wear them, and the price is higher than the empire state building. I do love them though: they are so sleek and elegant (perhaps minus the open toe).
Maybe these will only go with a few outfits, but they are lovely summer shoes. As gorgeous as, they aren't in my size.
So at the end of everything, I didn't find any shoes within budget. Maybe this is 'the Higher Force' telling me to put the money in my account. Or a subtle hint that a shopping spree is more suitable!

Cars from the past
A family friend has recently... well he completely buggered up his car. He managed to sell it on though, and tonight we were browsing the internet for a new one. Naturally, my taste in cars differs a little from his boy racer 'Citroen Saxo' ideal, and I managed to stumble across these little gems.
I could pour on about this car all day, but I won't. Not only am I slightly too young to drive, but I'm too poor for this model. Wait for it... £45,000. That's a pound per mile! That might seem like pennies for a coupe, especially when you compare it to a coupe like the beautiful Audi R8 at almost £125,000; but for a student with a self-consuming bank balance, anything which costs more than the price of a bag of chips is too expensive.
This great first find is a rare Cadillac from the late 40's. Despite its first impression of being slightly blingy, I fell in love with this car easily. This particular model has only done 45,000 miles since '49, and I can imagine that it is itching to be driven.
Not only is it a beautiful car, but it's oozing with history. The Cadillac took over from the Model T Ford as car ownership sky rocketed alongside suburban life in the early 50's (much to Henry Ford's dismay), and it must be said, Cadillac produced some fantastic results.I could pour on about this car all day, but I won't. Don't worry; I'm not going to leave you on that depressing note. I went on looking and found my way to some Volkswagens; rejoice!
I have always wanted a camper van. Quite a few of my school friends owned a camper van, and I even know one kid that rebuilt a camper with his Dad. In my opinion, a camper van makes the perfect addition to any trip. And if you're going to get a camper van, why not get an original one which has seen it all; gotten a little bit of character along the way?
This magnificent specimen has made it's way from the sixties, and has stayed in a fabulous condition. Although I would go for a more typically 'sixties' colour if I were to actually buy a Camper, the body work on this is amazing. After spending its entire life in a lonely garage having never been driven, this '66 camper was restored by the owner's family in 2001. The price of this one's pretty steep too: £14,850.00! And on top of that, it's left hand drive. Well there goes another dream. But panic not! I've got one more fab find to show you.
That's right, another classic car: the 1968 VW Beetle. It's cute, sassy and has the biggest vintage attitude you could ask for. Late 60's to early 70's, the Beetle - or bug as some people have nicknamed it - was synonymous with the Flower Power movement. If it didn't have enough of a status from the movement, we all remember Herbie in 1973. The film gave the car more of a life (literally) than ever before. For me, this car is the ultimate sixties/ seventies style icon as far as motoring is concerned. I'd kill to own one of these, but unfortunately this one is only for hire. And even if it wasn't, it would burn a hole in my pocket and carry on burning the rest of my trousers!
I was stunned to find all of these cars on eBay, but even more stunned to find that they were originals from the time periods. If I was a rich girl, you could forget Pimp my Ride, I'd have a garage full of old collectibles!

PROCRASTINATION FOR THE NATION
Tomorrow morning I have to totter off to a course in Bath University. It's a French and Spanish course run by Routes into Languages and it's going to prepare me for A Level French. I don't know anyone there, so I should probably be brushing up on my French and researching the topics we're going to cover so that I don't look like a poor tourist. As good as my work ethic is, the results weren't as education-based as most teachers would have liked.
These pretty French girls came up in my findings. Aren't they gorgeous? As far as my translation skills are concerned, the one on the right quotes:
These rings are so perfect. I can't wear girly rings because of my little stump-fingers, but these are in the perfect unisex area which suit me.
These French film magazines would be useful in enriching my skills last minute... If I actually had them. But in all seriousness, it would be lovely to have a look through these. It's all very well rifling through the vintage culture of your own country, but it's even more fun scouring the history of another!
Finally I gave up on France. I figured that I'm going to be spending the next two days talking about nothing but France. Time to dedicate my last remaining hours to good old England
Instead of researching everything French, I'm being pure and patriotic; researching England.
Tea and cakes: you just can't get more English than that can you?
Ok forget the tea, It's Pimm's O'Clock!! (I'd never realised how many apostrophes were in that sentence until now).
This antique brooch just goes to show; no one's royals are paraded like our royals!
Let's play count the top knots! Only in London would you see a scene like this. That's lovely barbed wire up there too.
I thought I'd leave you with this elegant photo. For some reason this reminds me of 'This is England'. Never mind the Viagra sign, notice the pooch casually hanging out of the top window. Again, only in England.

It comforts me that people come up to me and offer for me to be in their film.I won't pretend that I know who this lovely lady is, but she must be quite famous to be saying that about herself!
